The sensory garden at Easterseals Crossroads will be a 10,000 square foot, inclusive recreational environment created with the goal of better integrating children and young adults with autism, sensory processing disorder and other disabilities into a public space. This will be a mission-driven space that will serve people with functional sensory experiences, but will also translate to the general population.
The final design of the sensory garden will be spacious, vibrant, inviting, appealing and safe with its open play area, interactive light installation, water feature and sensory garden designed for users of all abilities. The sensory garden will be designed to encourage interaction with nature in a quiet setting. This space will be a garden that is accessible to all with its collection of plants, sculptures and experiences that are appealing to one or more of the five senses – sight, smell, sound, taste and touch.
We envision this space to be available for agency events as well as outside rentals, weddings, retreats and more.
